The City of Oaks

Raleigh was founded in 1792 as N.C.'s capital city and is listed among the "Top 20 Greenest Cities in the Country" thanks to the founding fathers who dedicated themselves to ensuring the city maintained its wooded tracts and grassy parks (9,000 acres of parkland and almost 1,300 acres of water).

Raleigh is the largest city in the The Research Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill), one of the most prominent high-tech research and development centers in the United States and home to over 200 companies including IBM, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Red Hat and Verizon.

Recently, Livability.com rated Raleigh #2 in it's "2019 Top 100 Best Places to Live" survey based on economics, housing, amenities, infrastructure, demographics, social and civic capital, education and health care. For more info visit North Carolina Department of Commerce Labor and Economic Analysis

Food and Art and Sports, Oh My!

Arts & Entertainment

Raleigh's art scene is well-known around the world and thanks to organizations like North Carolina's Museum of Art,  Artspace and The Contemporary Art Museum it continues to impress.

Known by art, fitness enthusiasts and dog lovers, Ann and Jim Goodnight Museum Park is certainly one of the most unique attractions in town. This 164-acre campus of trails and outdoor sculpture will literally leave you breathless (literally). For more info on the Raleigh Art Scene visit 919Blog.com.

Raleigh is home to the Carolina Hurricanes, The Atlantic Coast Conferences (ACCs) NC State University Wolfpack football and basketball team, NC FC (pro soccer), North Carolina CourageFlyers (Frisbee) and The Carolina Mudcats to name a few. For more info on the all Raleigh has to offer, check out VisitRaleigh.com.

Food

Raleigh is a "Foodie" paradise! Food trucks play a integral role in our Foodie Culture offering everything from tater tots and tacos to shaved ice and ice cream . As for restaurants, Raleigh was named among Forbes Travel Guide list of “12 Top Destinations of 2017” for our taste in food. The list specifically mentions Scott Crawford’s Crawford & Son, the Herons restaurant at The Umstead Hotel and Spa  (Cary) and the Morgan Street Food Hall and Market.

We also love beer! North Carolina, aka "The State of Southern Beer" is home to over 200 craft breweries, brewpubs, microbreweries, and nano breweries statewide and Raleigh has some of the best. Local pubs and breweries include Lonerider Brewing Company, Raleigh Brewing, and Crank Arm Brewing. For more info on Raleigh's Foodie scene, check out the Trianglefoodblog.com.

Whether you're considering Raleigh for it's ripe job market and economic stability or it's arts, culture and "Foodie" scene, we truly do have it all.
